Super Powerful |
While other air gun manufacturers struggle to break 1200 feet per second in .177, the new AirForce Condor easily achieves 1250 fps in .22, making it one of the most powerful production pellet gun known in this caliber. An integral extended scope rail allows easy mounting of the largest air gun scopes or other specialized optical sighting devices. Additional dovetail rails allow mounting lasers, bipods, and other accessories to provide the shooter with an adaptive airgun shooting system. Designed for air gun hunting in the growing number of states that allow hunting, this system can also be used by various military and law enforcement agencies for pest control or special tactical applications.
The AirForce Condor is a quality PCP (Pre-Charged Pneumatic) air rifle with a definite "one-of-a-kind" look. The Condor features a Lothar Walther premium match shrouded barrel and features three accessory rails for mounting scopes, lights, lasers, night vision equipment and other sighting devices. We do recommend using a high mount with this rifle regardless of which scope you choose to use.
Micro-adjustable power levels permit velocity adjustments over a wide range. The fire control system features an automatic safety, an easily accessible safety release, a two-stage trigger, an oversized cocking knob and a large pellet loading port. All rail mounted accessories feature coin-slotted screws for easy changes to suit various shooting applications.
Estimated to be Available - End of March, 2013

The
shrouded and baffled Condors have arrived and we knew airgunners would
be interested to see the Our Take on them so we did the ..22 and 25
Condor testing right away. The .177 tests will follow as soon as we can
find the time to do it.
There are a few things you should know before looking at the numbers.
1. The CondorSS is an adjustable powered rifle with power settings from
1-12. The manual suggested power levels are #3-4 for target shooting,
#6 for most general plinking and #10 for high power shooting. While
there is a #11 and #12, the manual says that using anything over #10
will simply waste air. So it looks like #10 is the way to go for high
power and that is the power level used for the Our Take.
I did check to see the number of shots per fill using JSB Exact Kings
at 25.39 grains. You'll see that reflected below the test. Even though
the Beeman Kodiak/H&N Baracuda yields a bit more power the JSB
pellets seem to be super popular too.
2. The manual says as one would expect the power level used will
determine the number of shots your get per fill. Using a #10 setting
would yield the least number of shots and lower settings would increase
the number of shots by a respectable margin. The manual claims 65 shots
or so at medium power levels and up to 200 at very low power levels.
3. After all the testing at power level #10 was finished, I turned the
power down to #6 to see what the power level would be. I did not test
for the # of shots at that power level. I was just looking to see
the fpe of the rifle at that power level. I then turned the power down
to #3 and checked the fpe of the rifle at that power level also. Again,
I did not test to see the maximum number of shots at #3 power setting.
4. The new CondorSS uses an 18" shrouded and baffled barrel rather than
the usual 24" barrel featured on non-shrouded versions of the Condor.
However, the manual states that the 24" barrel is an option but doesn't
say (or I didn't notice where) whether the 24" barrel would be shrouded
or unshrouded. We'll try to find out information about that.
This is certain...the gun is a powerful shooter and is a lot quieter
than the non-shrouded version. But it's still a bit louder at full
power, than a typical 30 fpe shrouded and baffled PCP. At twice the
power, one would expect it to be a bit louder. The sound does drop
quite a lot when the power is turned down and would likely be very
similar to a any other pcp air rifle when both are turned to the same
power level.
If a shooter can get by at the medium power setting
for most shooting situations, I think he'd find the gun to be very
quiet for a howitzer. We always tell customers that in reality, guys
don't want quiet...they really want silent but of course that isn't
realistic. But I must say that Air Force did a good job of quieting a
super powerful rifle and the adjustable power makes it even more
versatile. You'll like this gun a lot.
