As you can see from the picture, the FWB 603 Jr. is a serious 10-meter rifle and is designed to compete at the highest level and it performs that function very well. But the 603 Jr. has another application that we don't normally associate with serious 10-meter rifles. Craig and I think of it as insect control. Yes, that's right, insect control! There is no better sport on a Saturday afternoon than shooting flies, grasshoppers or other insects of your choice.
With the addition of a high magnification scope on a BKL 254 cantilevered scope mount, the FWB 603 Jr. might be the best fly shooter ever. So whether you are a 10 meter competition shooter or just an avid plinker and target shooter like us, this gun is an excellent choice.
But do note that this is the Jr. version of the 603, not the full length, heavier model. Competitors tend to prefer the heavier version, but when shooting simply for fun, the extra weight can be a hassle so don't overlook the lighter weight of the Jr. version. The Jr. has the same accuracy rating, the same power-plant and the same styling, but at 7.5 lbs rather than 10.6 lbs. That makes the 603 Jr. an ideal gun for the non-competitive shooters. Of course, we do sell the full weight version as well for the serious competition shooters, but for the shooter looking for top shelf quality and precision in a lighter weight, this gun simply can't be beat. Take a serious look at this gun. You might not wish to use it for shooting insects…but you could! It IS that accurate.
