The P70FT (Field Target) offers the same smooth, incredible accuracy as its 10-meter cousin but at a much higher power level. Straight Shooters "Our Take" velocity testing results using 36 different .177 caliber pellets ranged from 878 fps with the lightest pellets to 753 with the heaviest pellets. Energy ranged from 11.4 fpe (ft. lbs.) to 14.7 fpe. More than ample for field target competition shooter or the home target shooter.

And it is even more incredible when one realizes that when we perform velocity tests on a rifle, we aren't trying to shoot for maximum accuracy. We simply try to aim at the last hole and shoot quickly. With 540 shots to do, we just don't have the time to aim for maximum precision. And yet, all 540 shots made a hole smaller than a dime at 10 yards just by pointing and shooting quickly. That is truly impressive by any standard. My guess is that one-holers aren't going to be too hard to shoot with this rifle when a shooter really takes the time to aim properly.
