Adjusting for Barrel Droop
If your goal is to make adjustments to correct barrel droop because
your gun is shooting low, this may be accomplished by raising
the back ring 1/2 turn at a time. Each 1/2 turn counterclockwise
(of the back ring) will help eliminate the problem of shooting
low. If reverse barrel droop occurs and your gun shoots too high,
the opposite adjustment is required. The front ring must be raised
higher than the back ring to eliminate this problem. Both adjustments
are accomplished by first loosening the Set Screws, then loosening
the Adjustment screws slightly and turning the entire ring saddle
counterclockwise 1/2 turn. If more adjustment is needed, turn
1/2 turn at a time until the proper height is achieved. The idea
is to try to adjust the mount until your pellet's point of impact
is within an inch or so of the bullseye (Final adjustments may
be made by using the adjustment knobs on the scope). Because the
Set Screws and the Adjustment Screws are still loose, you will
notice that the rings turn and tilt easily. Now lay the scope
in the ring cradles and you will notice that the ring cradles
automatically adjust to the scope. Tighten the Adjustment Screws,
then the Set Screws after adjusting. NOTE: When tightening the
Adjustment Screws, make sure that the split ring stays centered
in the saddle ring.
Adjusting for Windage
If your goal is to correct windage (right/left adjustment), the
idea is to make the scope "aim" at the point of impact.
Example: Your gun is shooting to the left of the bullseye. To
adjust, first loosen the Set Screws on both rings, then move the
front saddle ring to the left (in the direction the pellet impacts)
and the rear saddle ring to the right (the opposite direction).
To move the saddle ring to the left, loosen the adjustment screw
on the left side and tighten the adjustment screw on the right
side. To move a saddle ring to the right, the opposite is done.
Because the Set Screws and Adjustment Screws are loose, you will
see that both rings turn and tilt easily. At this point, lay the
scope in the rings and they will automatically adjust themselves
to your scope. Now tighten the Adjustment screws, tighten the
Set Screws and replace the top of the rings. Try another shot
to see how much correction is still needed. Repeat procedure if
necessary. In windage adjustments, the split rings will NOT remain
centered in the saddle rings. They will have been adjusted left
in front and right in back, or in the opposite configuration.
