We had already tested the RWS 48 so we expected similar results and outside of small differences we found the same results. As with the 48 and 54, the .177 is a great plinking gun which can achieve some impressive velocities while doubling as a pest control gun. The .22 moves you into pest control and hunting category while still a capable plinker.
We don't want to repeat everything we said about the Model 48, but the Model 52 is a good all around gun but with more power than is needed for general plinking. We did discover is that when doing a lot of shooting, the side lever cocking seems to put less stress on a shooter than cocking a breakbarrel rifle of similar power. We found the gun easy to cock, load and shoot. We had a thoroughly good time shooting the 48, 52 and 54 rifles. And the power levels were quite impressive overall.
The ratings are a composite of .177 and .22 calibers.
