Velocity Test Results
Interpreting the score
We are happy to present the results of the Our Take velocity results for the P70FT. The results show a very consistent velocity range right in the middle of the sweet spot for .177 pellets. One of the things that never fail to amaze us is how consistent the accuracy of a rifle can get when shooting just below the 900 fps velocity range. The middle to high 800 fps range is a real sweet spot for the weight of most .177 pellets. The velocities we recorded during the testing are right in the middle of the sweet spot. We find the results impressive to say the very least.
After testing velocity we also wondered how many consistent shots we could get from one air fill. So we proceeded to shoot a total of 100 shots divided into 10-shot strings, measuring the average velocity after each string of 10 shots. And the test resulted in very impressive numbers. We used a Beeman FTS round headed pellet as the test pellet. The average test weight of the FTS pellets was 8.8 grain.
Here are the results:
Shots 1-10 - 851 fps average velocity
Shots 11-20 - 851 fps average velocity
Shots 21-30 - 850 fps average velocity
Shots 31-40 - 852 fps average velocity
Shots 41-50 - 852 fps average velocity
Shots 51-60 - 854 fps average velocity
Shots 61-70 - 846 fps average velocity
Shots 71-80 - 813 fps average velocity
Shots 81-90 - 773 fps average velocity
Shots 91-100 - 725 fps average velocity
Not one string had a velocity spread that was more than 7 fps from shot to shot. Those are the most consistent results we've seen from any gun we've ever tested. This gun is a definite "must have" if a shooter is into performance. The only word for this gun is "SWEET"!
