Interpreting the score
As adult airguns go, the SLR98 is somewhat of an oddity. It is relatively light in weight for it's power, compact, sleek, beautiful and has a 7 shot magazine. But a few minutes of shooting this gun will make you believe that you must have one in your gun case.
The gas spring gives it a smooth firing action and the slightly reduced velocities keep noise down to an enjoyable level. In .177 it is a wonderfully accurate target, plinking and pest control rifle. In .22 caliber it still packs more than enough punch to be an excellent "ground sweeper" and hunting rifle.
Now that this rifle is available in .177 and .22 calibers, the ratings can be moved up to a higher level. Both calibers now give this the versatility it was lacking when available only in .22 caliber. This gun is light, easy to cock, very accurate, durable and fun to shoot. And the gas ram and smooth action of the SLR-98 make this gun easy to shoot as well.
