Interpreting the score

The Logun Solo was a pleasure to test and so simple to operate that the testing was finished before we realized it. The FX/Logun design team hit on a real sweet shooter with the Solo.

We found that unlike some guns, loading this single shot action was not a problem. The pellets slipped easily into the trough for loading. The pellet could easily be inserted directly into the breach before closing the bolt.

The ambidextrous stock has very good balance and the finish was well done in a dark stain with red undertones. The barrel is shrouded with a stabilizing band for added rigidity and stability.

The Solo makes a perfect gun for the first time PCP owner or the experienced shooter because it is so comfortable, light weight and easy to shoot. One key feature to the simplicity of this rifle is the lack of pressure gauge (manometer). That might just be a good thing because as any experienced PCP owner will tell you, the gauge is about the weakest part on any rifle. If your gun is going to develop an air leak, the gauge is one of the most likely places for it to happen.

The match grade Lothar Walther shrouded barrel will help ensure that any targets missed were due to shooter error, not the gun. And at 6.1 pounds, this is a gun you can easily carry all day in the field. In addition, the bottom of the stock is relatively flat which makes bench resting a snap.

In short this is a great gun at a fantastic price. We expect to see many good reports from our shooters about this gun.
