Freeplay Ranger Radio
The Ranger radio has a number of practical uses because it isn't just any old radio. And what's different about it is what attracted us to this product in the first place.

So what's different? The Ranger radio features an internal battery which can be charged in three different ways which means that you'll never be dependent on batteries that wear out when you need them the most.

Charge the radio in the following three ways:
1) The internal battery may be charged by simply plugging the unit into a standard AC outlet (AC adapter included). Great if you're at home under normal conditions.
2) Use solar power if you're outdoors to play the radio and charge the battery at the same time (the solar charger is built into the unit).
3) And the most unique method of charging this radio is by turning the wind-up handle. 30 seconds of winding will play the radio for over 2 hours. Wind a little longer and it's play even longer! The radio can be wound-up forwards or backwards so you can't make a mistake and the wind-up turns easily. Just use a nice easy speed...no stress, no hassle. Wonderful when outdoors, camping or for use in the event that severe weather moves into your area. Never worry again about dead batteries or if the power goes out in a storm.

Well, we just had to have this item and ordered a bunch. We also liked it's rugged exterior which is designed for outdoors use. We found the following statement by the manufacturer to be correct but a bit understated. We really like this product and it's exciting as well as practical.
